This training also explores goal setting strategies, reviews resources for helping young people explore post-secondary and career options, and offers tips and strategies for coaching youth as they prepare for post-secondary life and to enter the workforce. This eModule complements the youth-facing Career Awareness for Youth & Young adults eModule.
The Career Awareness for Youth & Young Adults eModule is a self-paced training designed specifically for youth who are interested in journeying through the career exploration and discovery processes. Youth will explore 21st century and workplace readiness skills, create their own Education & Career Plan, and complete self-assessments that may guide them further in the exploration process. Youth will also explore informational interviews, as well as learn the ins and outs of standard interview practices, including Behavioral Based Interviews. Youth will explore and identify essential elements of resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profiles, leading to the development of their own digital portfolio that will help them standout as a competitive candidate for employment.
Digital Badges are online credentials. Each badge on average contains 10-15 hours of work for students, equivalent to one college credit. Digital badges live on an online platform to verify that students have shown improvement in a certain area or accomplished a concrete task. Digital Badges can be linked to LinkedIn profiles, in resumes, as well as college and professional applications. FHI 360 offers a series of Digital Badges in a variety of foundational skills; each badge is comprised of four sub-competencies, which students must demonstrate understanding of in order to earn the badge.
