The Career Awareness for Navigators eModule is a training sequence designed for Navigators who work with youth as they journey through career exploration and discovery phases. Through this training, Navigators will hone and improve their skills in working with youth and focus on how they can build youth employability skills – the competencies needed to be successful in any working setting, regardless of industry. This training also explores goal setting strategies, reviews resources for helping young people explore post-secondary and career options, and offers tips and strategies for coaching youth as they prepare for post-secondary life and to enter the workforce. This eModule complements the youth-facing Career Awareness for Youth & Young adults eModule.

The Career Awareness for Youth & Young Adults eModule is a self-paced training designed specifically for youth who are interested in journeying through the career exploration and discovery processes. Youth will explore 21st century and workplace readiness skills, create their own Education & Career Plan, and complete self-assessments that may guide them further in the exploration process. Youth will also explore informational interviews, as well as learn the ins and outs of standard interview practices, including Behavioral Based Interviews. Youth will explore and identify essential elements of resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profiles, leading to the development of their own digital portfolio that will help them standout as a competitive candidate for employment.

Digital Badges are online credentials. Each badge on average contains 10-15 hours of work for students, equivalent to one college credit. Digital badges live on an online platform to verify that students have shown improvement in a certain area or accomplished a concrete task. Digital Badges can be linked to LinkedIn profiles, in resumes, as well as college and professional applications. FHI 360 offers a series of Digital Badges in a variety of foundational skills; each badge is comprised of four sub-competencies, which students must demonstrate understanding of in order to earn the badge. The Working with Youth eModule is an orientation and training module designed for Johnson & Johnson local operating company employees who are new to the Bridge to Employment program and will be working with youth. Key concepts introduced include adolescent brain development, positive youth development, effective communication, and relationship-building practices. This introductory eModule is followed by an in-person training with FHI 360 specialists who will explore each topic in greater detail.
