Preparation & Professional Development

In a partnership focused on transforming teacher-preparation programs in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota‚ the Bush Foundation plans to invest more than $40 million over the next decade in 14 universities. The institutions‚ which collectively will produce at least 25‚000 new teachers over the next 10 years‚ have guaranteed the effectiveness of the teachers who graduate from their redesigned programs. NIWL provides coaching and technical support to the universities‚ assists with the design and delivery of cross-institution summits‚ facilitates the identification of common metrics that will be used to gauge the progress of the initiative‚ works closely with the project’s Advisory Review Committee to provide high-level guidance to Bush Foundation staff‚ and advises the foundation staff on an array of issues related to the initiative.
