Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing
FHI 360, then AED, provided technical assistance to CSUN’s Teachers for a New Era (TNE) initiative and subsequently FHI 360 team members were consulted on development and early implementation of the Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing (ICHWB). FHI 360 will assist CSUN administrators and faculty with four tasks associated with further development and expansions of the ICHWB. These tasks are:
- Development/implementation of an intake and referral system for ICHWB (with capacity to share information about clients across centers‚ clinics‚ and service providers);
- Development of ICHWB web presence and portal‚ with particular emphasis on providing information to clients seeking information‚ appointments‚ and/or referrals;
- Development of vision for ICHWB; and
- Exploration of funding opportunities available through the Affordable Health Care Act, with particular attention to ICHWB’s capacity/readiness to respond to this new focus on prevention/early health screenings and opportunities to enter into service agreements with hospitals and clinics to provide selected services.
Additionally‚ FHI 360 staff members will review relevant literature‚ gather referrals and information from experts in the field‚ and analyze extant data/documents from CSUN to develop protocols for site visits‚ meeting/conference call agendas‚ and task-related reports. Specific deliverables are likely to include detailed recommendations and plans for next steps based on analyses of focus group and interview data and research briefs.
